The complete cast has been announced for the upcoming world premiere of Truman Capote’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the new play by Tony winner Richard Greenberg, which begins previews at Broadway’s Cort Theatre on March 4. Opening night is set for March 20, directed by Sean Mathias.
Joining previously announced stars Emilia Clarke (as Holly Golightly), Cory Michael Smith (as Fred) and George Wendt (as Joe Bell), the full cast consists of Suzanne Bertish, Danny Binstock, Pedro Carmo, Elisabeth Anthony Gray, Murphy Guyer, Eddie Korbich, Paolo Montalban, Kate Cullen Roberts, John Rothman, Tony Torn, Lee Wilkof and James Yaegashi.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s is set in New York City in 1943. The show follows a young writer from Louisiana (Smith) who meets and falls head over heels for Holly Golightly (Clarke), a charming, vivacious and enigmatic good-time girl. But Fred is poor, and Holly's other suitors include a playboy millionaire and the future president of Brazil. As war rages on in Europe, Holly begins to fall in love with Fred, just as her mysterious past catches up with her.
The production will feature scenic design by Derek McLane, costume design by Colleen Atwood, lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski, projection design by Wendall K. Harrington and music and sound by Rob Milburn & Michael Bodeen.
